The purpose of the retraction of a publication from the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” is to correct the scholarly record and to inform the academic community of the unreliability or significant violations identified in a published article.

Voluntary (self-initiated) retraction of a scholarly publication from the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” is possible in cases when the research was conducted in good faith and ethically, but after publication the following issues were discovered:

  1. errors in data analysis or interpretation of results;
  2. technical or methodological flaws that substantially affect the conclusions;
  3. other unintentional errors that make it impossible to further use the results as reliable.

Editorial retraction of a publication from the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” is applied in cases of establishment of intentional or serious violations, including:

  1. data fabrication or falsification;
  2. plagiarism, unethical research, or scholarly or professional misconduct;
  3. false statements regarding authorship or affiliation;
  4. multiple submission or duplicate publication of an article;
  5. concealment of a conflict of interest.

A statement concerning possible grounds for retraction must be submitted to the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” in written form, indicating the relevant facts and supporting materials.

The Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” conducts a preliminary analysis of the information received.

The author(s) of the article are notified in writing of the commencement of the review and are afforded the right to provide an explanation within the timeframe set by the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law”.

If required, the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” may engage independent experts or contact the institution at which the research was conducted.

The decision on retraction is taken by the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” by a majority vote and is formalized by a protocol.

Upon adoption of a decision on the article retraction, the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” is obliged to ensure transparent and clear retraction marking in accordance with COPE recommendations for the purpose of preserving the integrity of the scholarly record:

  • application of a clear visual marking “RETRACTED” to all electronic versions of the article (PDF, HTML, etc.);
  • preservation of the full text of the article without alteration, except for the aforementioned marking;
  • placement of an active link to the retraction notice on the first page of the article.

A retracted article is not removed from the website of the scientific journal or the repositories in which it is hosted, except in cases provided for by law.

A retracted article is not considered a valid scholarly publication and is not recommended for citation.
