Depositing Policy for Author’s Accepted Manuscript (AAM)

In accordance with the open access policy and the current national legislation of Ukraine on intellectual property, the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” supports the Author’s Accepted Manuscript (AAM) policy.

The Author’s Accepted Manuscript (AAM) is the version of the article manuscript that has passed the peer review procedure and has been accepted by the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” for publication, but is at the stage prior to typesetting, proofreading, and technical editing by the publisher. This is the final version of the author’s text that precedes the creation of the “publisher’s version” (Version of Record).

Economic and moral rights to the text, data, and research results in the AAM version of the article manuscript belong to the authors.

The right to specific graphic design, layout, layout style, and pagination (page numbers) belongs to the publisher – the Penitentiary Academy of Ukraine.

The Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” recommends that authors distribute the AAM version of the article under the terms of the international license Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY-NC 4.0). This allows others to copy and distribute the material provided that mandatory reference to authorship and the original source (the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law”) is maintained.

Right to Deposition (Self-Archiving Policy)

Also, the Penitentiary Academy of Ukraine, as the publisher, grants the author a non-exclusive right to deposit (archive) the AAM version in institutional or thematic repositories without restrictions.

This means that the author of the article manuscript has the right to:

  • use the AAM version of the article to fulfill the requirements of grantors who demand immediate open access to the results of funded research;
  • upload the AAM version of the article to international databases (e.g., Zenodo, SSRN);
  • place the AAM version of the article in open access on the website of their university or scientific institution.

When uploading the article manuscript to the repository, according to the indexing rules (URIS and international databases), the author must add the following legal cautionary note:

“This is an accepted for publication manuscript of the article [article title], which was accepted for publication in the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” . The final publisher’s version of the article will be available at DOI: [link]”.
