Policy on Obtaining a Mandatory Approval for Research Involving Humans, Animals or Their Biological Materials, Personal or Confidential Data, Substantive to the Relevant National Legislation of Ukraine

The journal’s policy on research involving humans, animals, their biological materials, as well as using personal or confidential data, is based on the current legislation of Ukraine and generally recognized international principles of academic integrity and research ethics.

The Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” proceeds from the necessity of unconditional compliance with ethical standards during the conduct and publication of scientific research carried out with the involvement of humans, animals, or their biological materials, as well as with the use of personal or confidential data.

In the event that obtaining ethical approval is mandatory for the respective type of research, the author must indicate information about its availability within the article itself. In doing so, the name of the body that issued the approval, alongside the number and date of the relevant document, must be provided.

Submission of an article manuscript to the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law” implies that the author confirms compliance with the requirements regarding the protection of human rights, humane treatment of animals, proper use of biological materials, as well as the legality of processing personal and confidential data.

In the event that the research requires mandatory ethical approval, but the author has not provided the relevant information within the article itself or cannot confirm it upon request of the Editorial Board of the scientific journal “Scientific Herald of Sivershchyna. Series: Law”, the Editorial Board reserves the right to refuse the review of the article manuscript, suspend the editorial process, or reject the article without submitting it for further peer review.
